Inspiring Women in Jamaica

 Inspiring Women in Jamaica

Hello, again my wonderful readers. I know it has been quite some time since my last post but today I have some exciting news to share with you. Over the past few months of learning and experimenting with Digital Humanities and Digital Humanities projects I have come to develop a Digital Humanities Project of my own.

This blog post will give a brief introduction to the project along with instructions on how to navigate and explore the project to get access to all the information provided and to better understand the project.

First off to introduce you to my project which is called Inspiring Women in Jamaica; is a map of Jamaica with tagged locations associated with the women mentioned in each tag. Each tag is filled with information on a specific inspiring woman in Jamaica. The information in each tag includes a title (which is the name of the woman represented and when she was born) and short paragraphs, pictures and for some of these women, I’ve included videos that will allow you to get to know these women a bit better. The main purpose of this project is to acknowledge these women for their great work by making an impact on people within/from Jamaica (including myself), people within the West Indies, and People across the entire Globe.

To help you navigate through the project, all the tags are located on the map f Jamaica. To help you find all the 9 tags I have made for you to see there is a text box that lists the different tags which can help you navigate to each tag. Also, each tag has a symbol and color which represents the woman mention to help you tell them apart and give them more character. In each tag, I mentioned before that there are pictures and for some women videos included. All of these are included in the tag, to get to them you can just click on the arrow pointing to the left (>) to skip along the pictures and possibly pictures provided.

I must note that this project is incomplete meaning that there are still some women not mentioned in this project and I would love it if anyone had anymore more suggestions and/or more information on the women already mentioned. Collaboration to complete this project is absolutely encouraged.

With all of that said I hope you guys enjoy this project, I hope you learn some and most importantly become inspired no matter who you are to be your genuine self and to chase after your dreams. You can find this project at INSPIRING WOMEN IN JAMAICA.

Until next time, stay safe and healthy.

~Bye~
